Just one Bird

Some days shadows appear,
fuzzy images that draw you near,
I was told they’re a reminder,
that you still walk here
I have to think,
could this be real?

Fluttering from here to there,
scant encounters power the zeal,
spotting them when I need them most.

Your song awakens me,
Your color astounds me.
Blue birds are lovely,
But you take my breath away.

Swirling of feathers fill the air,
Yet another chance to reappear.

Alas, a celestial connection.
Preening yourself
For future displays,
When you will take center stage.
